Bullying - The triggers ( Part 2)

Warm greetings to you, I do hope that today has been a big one for you. So without wasting much time, let's get down to business. Yesterday, I started a series on bullying and looked into what it means to be a bully, how to identify one as well as how to detect a victimbull(I hope you still remember who a victimbull is). So as I promised, today I shall be writing on what triggers a person to become a bully. Let's get started . In our world today, there are numerous reasons and factors that turns one into a bully and please don't be shocked at any, for some persons become an unwilling bully. This means they became bullies without meaning to. The circumstances around them made them so. So, if you see a bully today, don't be quick to condemn, castigate or judge. It might not be their fault but on the other hand, it could be. In this regard, let's consider few factors that birth bullies.   Environment. Yeah! The environment of a child can either make or mar him. When a...

Bullying ; The horrific monster

Hello,  I hope your day went on smoothly and fulfilling as you desired?  Earlier today, I promised on my WhatsApp status that I have a surprise for you.  Actually, it's something that has been bothering me for days and I think this is a good time to talk about it. Can you take a guess?  ... Well, it's on BULLYING! Yeah, bullying.  You know schools (Primary and secondary schools I mean) are in the season of resumption for a new term in most states and the news of the late Sylvester Oromoni Jnr who was a JSS2 student of Dowen College is still very fresh in our memories.  No matter what we say or decide on that matter, whether he was bullied or not, bullying is a deadly virus that ought to be thrashed out in our schools and in every sector where it rears its ugly head. So, let's roll... Taking a first leap, what in the world is bullying? Why is it such a dreadful, horrifying word that tingles the ears of its hearers? According to Oxford Advanced Learner...

Lessons from a fall.

Hello! Good day my dear friend, Just as I shared yesterday on my WhatsApp status about the season I was in a great despondency and how I finally came out and conquered. I promised to share some of the great lessons I learnt as well as tips on how to overcome and avoid such scenarios. I really do hope you learn something useful from this. On a first note, never see yourself as the all-doing, super workaholic. I must confess I had this overrated can-do energy but it wasn't directed in the right course, so I flopped. Having great energy is beautiful but you must not overrate nor overwork yourself, it can be very disastrous. Two, plan your self and set your self in action. Plans are good but it's your actions that births great results. As much as you have the desire to do a thing, put actions in place. Stop the much talk, let the doing speak for you. Three, surround yourself with the right environment. You tend to be what you associate with. Keep the right set of friends as your c...

New Year Resolutions ; A Panacea?

New Year Resolutions : A Panacea? Hurray! It's a New Year 2022! Oh my gosh, I'm so excited, that's the mutual feeling right.  It's new year, we've got to start doing something new and doing things differently right?  So.. New year resolutions? Sure! Great! Beautiful! Amazing!  I need to cut this, I need to stop this, I need to start doing this, this and this.... and the list goes on and on.  But wait a minute, this resolution of a thing, does it really hold any water? Before we even start talking, what does resolution even mean? According to Oxford English Dictionary, Resolution is a statement of intent, a vow. It can also mean a strong will, determination. Wow, it's such an incredible deal, right? But, is that what it means in reality? Once it's new year, we all come up with numerous resolutions but by mid January, half of the list is down the drain and before February wears out, the list is nowhere to be heard nor seen. What went wrong? Is it that resolu...
