Bullying - The triggers ( Part 2)

I do hope that today has been a big one for you.

So without wasting much time, let's get down to business.

Yesterday, I started a series on bullying and looked into what it means to be a bully, how to identify one as well as how to detect a victimbull(I hope you still remember who a victimbull is). So as I promised, today I shall be writing on what triggers a person to become a bully. Let's get started .

In our world today, there are numerous reasons and factors that turns one into a bully and please don't be shocked at any, for some persons become an unwilling bully. This means they became bullies without meaning to. The circumstances around them made them so. So, if you see a bully today, don't be quick to condemn, castigate or judge. It might not be their fault but on the other hand, it could be. In this regard, let's consider few factors that birth bullies. 

 Environment. Yeah! The environment of a child can either make or mar him. When a child is brought up in a violent environment known for disdainful activities, this begins to sow seeds of violence in the child, consciously or unconsciously. And, a quick one, when I say environment, the home is one of the immediate environment of a child. If the home isn't a peaceful one, where fist combat is incessantly ongoing, there's no way such scenario will not be nailed to the heart of the child. If these scenarios persist, the child has a very high possibility of becoming a bully. Why? The reason isn't far-fetched. When he sees that everyone around him gets things done with an act of force, such mentality robs off on him and gradually becomes a part and parcel of him. 

So you can see how much effect the environment of a child has on him! 

Upbringing! Yeah, the upbringing of a child does lot of things in his life. A child who has been brought up with lot of bitterness, bad energy and violence or hatred has every tendency to end up as a bully. Why? Very easy to answer. A child  with this kind of upbringing (most times) do not have someone to open up to and release burdens and so in the long run, he carries all of these bad feelings and mete them on others that seem vulnerable to him. 

Do you now see that, it isn't every bully that wants to be so. They don't have anyone to share their burdens with and due to this, they pour it out as a venom on others. Some of them don't actually want to but they seem to find no other option. 

Be careful with the kind of upbringing you give your child, ward or anyone entrusted in your care, don't breed more juvenile delinquencies for the already-ill society. 

Another unconscious factor that births bullies is INDULGENCE. Yes, indulgence. This is a very bad factor that is predominant in homes, most especially well-to-do ones. So sad! When you over indulge your kids, giving in to every of their demands, you're indirectly making them a bully. How? Very simple! When you give in to every of their incessant demands, whether right or wrong, you make them have this belief that they will always have their way all the time and with this notion, they will never take no for an answer from anyone. They will always want to have things done in their own way and gradually with this kind of mindset, they become BULLIES, COERCING OTHERS TO DO THEIR BIDDING! 

Can you see now? Over-indulgence is very deadly, it isn't every thing that a child asks that you give. Sometimes, you just have to make them know what's right for them and what's not. Teach contentment to your child and you'll reduce the amount of bullies around. 

And the last point, I will talk on is HUMAN NATURE! You're surprised right?  Yeah, our human nature can be a factor that births bullying in a child. You know that our human nature is purely wicked, selfish, proud and likes to make others bend to its bidding. That's who we are! We want to always be the one who should be heard, respected and feared. So, this is how every child is and it takes a proper discipline and attention to fish out such nature from our kids and wards. Give time to study them and when you notice this, don't turn a blind eye. Thrash out the wrong at the early stage, imbibe right character and attitude in them and you will do not only the society but yourself a lot of good. 

These and many more factors can birth a bully, let's endeavour to be sensitive and wary. Be on a look out and don't be quick to condemn a child caught in the act. Remember, bullies are humans and something made them the way, they are.
