Where we started.... (The story of a UI finalist)
Good evening. Trust you had a great time in service today...
FYB (Final year brethren) 🙌 in the house, today's post is for you and if you know a FYB, click share this with them.
Enjoy😁
Where we started.....
...Hmm, it has been a long long journey,
First, it was O'level exams, after the long reading and preparations, you finished the exams and moved on to JAMB, hmmm sometimes JAMB, Jambed you drop you off the journey but you still forged ahead.
Some persons were much lucky and they Jambed Jamb.
All the same, you all moved to School and your status changed from the person everyone knew to one big UI (fess and bess💪) student.
Hmmm, You resumed to UI and started from registration, to medical screening down to tests and exams as a fresher with the fresh face....
But down the line, the fresh face drooped when you became a Stalite with a Stalite face😰.
However you kept moving despite all the blows and throws that UI threw at you. Tsunami and Erosion were laughing😹 at you and and you were almost swallowed, yet you scaled through and your constant slogan was 'We mauve' ..
Fast forward to penultimate year, you started countdown to the day you would graduate and almost, joined the bandwagon of 'School na scam.'
Seeing new Freshmen coming into UI, you pitied them, (Dem neva sabi ASUU) thinking about the time you just came in as a fresh man with a FRESH FACE AND FRESH MIND.
Finally finally, you just to the list of *final year brethren* and project was staring at you right in this face, stress was multipled to greater levels and your supervisor was like a knife at your throat. Jumping from one place to another in search of data and resources for your project and your face became as messed up as a lady whose makeup got smeared.
Nevertheless, you hinged on the quote, Tough time never last but tough people do and once again, you continue with, 'We mauve.'
Last last, final exam came and on the day of the last paper, you wore Agbada to class instead of your normal wear, and when people asked what happened , the response was, Sho ro mi ò wá tope ni (Is my cause not worthy of rejoicing) 😏.
At the end, you graduated and collected the *certificate* from UI, the major cause of all the troubles you sustained.
My dear finalist, this is a small advice from me to you.
Life is just starting, this is a new phase, School was like a wall that protected you from cruel hands of the world and now, you're on your own(OYO)
Don't forget the lessons you've learnt from your 4 made 5 years in SCHOOL, 5 made 6 years, 6 made 7 years and the likes...
Make the good out of all opportunities and privileges God brings your way.
Remember you have people who are still looking up as Yoruba rightly says, Esin iwájú ni tó ké wo sáre, Go and there and make us proud, our amiable alumni.
Above all, remember God in all your dealings, don't forget, one with God is a majority.
Farewell!!
